On September 17th, Tianjin Port (Group) Co., LTD., the People's Government of Baotou City, and China Railway Hohhot Bureau Group Co., Ltd. jointly signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement to implement the strategic deployment of accelerating the construction of a transportation power, build an outward-oriented logistics hub in the central and western regions of Inner Mongolia, and jointly promote the high-quality development of the regional economy.
Chu Bin, Party Secretary and Chairman of Tianjin Port Group, Chen Liqiang, Vice President of China Railway Hohhot Bureau Group Co., LTD., and Lei Dianjun, Vice Mayor of Baotou Municipal People's Government, attended the signing ceremony.
The signing of this agreement will enable the three parties to establish a strategic cooperative relationship based on the principle of "complementary advantages, resource sharing and mutual benefit and win-win". By leveraging their respective advantages in government services, port resources and railway business, integrating resources, optimizing processes and coordinating efforts, they aim to create an efficient, stable and green logistics channel from Baotou to Tianjin Port, reduce the logistics costs for regional enterprises to the port, and better serve the foreign trade and industrial development of the central and western regions of Inner Mongolia.
Inner Mongolia was historically a key hub of the "Grassland Silk Road" and the "Tea Road", and now it is an important node of the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor and a significant gateway to the New Western Land-Sea Corridor of the country. Over the years, Tianjin Port Group has been actively carrying out the "Four Thousand Actions" in line with the development layout of key industries in Inner Mongolia. It has continuously strengthened communication and exchanges with the regional government, railways, customs, parks and customer enterprises, focused on enhancing the development of cargo sources and the construction of rail-water intermodal transport channels, and continuously provided good port service guarantees. At present, Tianjin Port Group has its Inner Mongolia Central Region Headquarters in Baotou and has set up dry port hubs in Hohhot, Chifeng, Duolun and other places. It has opened sea-rail intermodal transport channels between Hohhot, Baotou and Tianjin Port, giving full play to the important role of Tianjin Port as the seaport of the "Three North" region, and serving the high-quality economic development and high-level opening up of Inner Mongolia.
Next, Tianjin Port Group will fully leverage the major achievements of the SCO Tianjin Summit, give full play to the advantages and role of Tianjin Port, and effectively transform the business advantages of the "Baotou - Tianjin Port" sea-rail intermodal "single document" into the driving force for regional open development. It will assist Inner Mongolia in building an important bridgehead for China's opening up to the north and smooth the domestic and international dual circulation logistics channels. Better serve the implementation of national strategies and the joint construction of the "Belt and Road Initiative".
