The first new energy heavy-duty truck bottom-plate battery swap station in Tianjin will be located at Tianjin Port

2025 07/16

Recently, Tianjin Port Bulk Cargo Logistics Company successfully signed a cooperation agreement with Times Qiji New Energy Technology (Tianjin) Co., LTD., a battery swap business company under CATL. They will build Tianjin's first new energy heavy-duty truck chassis battery swap station at the Tianjin Port Bulk Cargo Logistics New Energy heavy-duty Truck Energy Replenishment Base. At the same time, relying on Times Qiji Company's leading chassis battery swap technology, Jointly build an efficient and low-carbon heavy truck transportation system to inject new impetus into Tianjin Port's accelerated construction of a world-class green port.

It is understood that a total of two battery swap stations have started construction this time. After they are put into operation, they will further enhance the functions and volume of the new energy heavy-duty truck charging base for bulk cargo logistics at Tianjin Port. Compared with the conventional battery swap solution, the "bottom plate type" battery swap places the battery at the bottom of the truck, which can effectively lower the center of gravity of the entire vehicle. When swapping batteries, drivers do not need to get out of the car. The entire battery swapping process can be fully automated within five minutes. It is reported that the daily service capacity of each battery swap station can reach up to 192 times. Meanwhile, the wide-temperature design of the battery swap stations ensures that the efficiency of vehicle battery swapping remains consistent regardless of extreme cold or heat.
